Conservation and Craft Day 22nd February

The wider community are working together to rekindle the traditional woodland management and crafts in a mosaic of woodlands across the Soke of Peterborough.

The woodlands were historically the most easterly point of Royal Rockingham Forest. They include ancient woodland SSS1 National Nature Reserves, woodland ecosystems that may have been in existence since the retreat of the last ice age 10,000 years ago.

The Project is Heritage Lottery Funded and supported by The Forestry Commission, Natural England and Peterborough City Council.

Activities Include:
• Woodland Management
• Wildlife Surveying
• Traditional Green Woodcraft & Willow Weaving
• Woodland Archaeology & Historical Research
• Bush Craft
• Forest Schools

We work in partnership with forestry, ecology and woodcraft professionals who provide the knowledge and skills to engage the wider community with the natural and cultural heritage associated with the ancient woodlands.
