Peterborough Eco Education Awards 2013

PECT has been providing support for local schools to improve and embed eco education. This has been done through a range of resources and events, including the Peterborough Eco Awards. The Peterborough Eco Education Awards provide a showcase for Peterborough’s schools to share best practice and celebrate their achievements

The Awards Showcase will be held on 4th July 2013 at Ormiston Bushfield Academy. The Awards are open to all schools in Peterborough. They are free to enter you just need to bring a small group of pupils and a display about your project.
They will have a similar format to last year but we are making a few changes to make the day even better and respond to feedback received.

Please read the information in the related links and downloads section on this page for more information about how to get involved.

Please contact Jill Foster on 01733 866440 or email to register for the Peterborough Eco Education Awards.

Sponsorship Opportunities

The Peterborough Eco Awards 2013 will celebrate Peterborough’s placing in the top 10 Local Authorities nationally, for schools delivering active environmental education. The Peterborough Eco Awards are a big part of our continuing success, and each year more schools commit to developing environmental education as a result of this project.

We are looking for businesses to support the delivery of this exciting project

Ways to get involved

  • Support schools in developing their projects - with expertise, donation of items or staff time.
  • Provide the setting – as the awards grow, we are always looking for new spaces to hold the day.
  • Donate a prize for the awards – books, your company’s expertise, or a visit to your place of business for school children to find out more about your industry.
  • Sponsor the awards – each year supporting teachers and schools, co-ordinating and providing activities and healthy snacks on the day costs around £5,000. We would love to talk to you about sponsorship opportunities available this year.

Benefits of being involved in Peterborough Eco Awards

  • Profile your support of environmental education for local children with Local Authorities, schools, parents and local councillors and decision makers
  • Raise awareness of careers in your industry amongst your future workforce
  • Make a real contribution to the local community, and the future generations of Peterborough, building community trust in your company
  • Set yourself apart from competitors
  • Be part of a truly rewarding experience by judging at the awards - seeing first-hand the hard work and commitment of schools, and joining them in celebrating.
