Its less than one month until the Green Festival, and we here at PECT are getting very excited. The Green Festival is one of the longest running environmental festivals in the country and this year PECT is also celebrating its 25th Birthday; so we wanted to make this year’s festival even bigger! The festival is going to take place on the 11th August, at Nene Park, starting at 10am.
The festival is a brilliant opportunity for PECT to showcase some of the projects, highlight environmental issues and have some fun.
This year the PECT team will be talking about:
-
- Natural environment and how you can support Forest for Peterborough by planting one of the free trees we will be giving away
- Highlighting the issue of single use plastic and the simple ways you can make change
- How to save energy at home and in the workplace
We also have a range of partners coming along including the Wildlife Trust, National Youth Agency, Nenescape and Anglian Water (to name a few), who will have a range of educational and informative activities for everyone to take part in.
The day is about promoting sustainability, but we also want people to have some fun, so there will be food, drink, games and entertainment including artists who have been commissioned specifically for the festival.
We hope you can come along and enjoy, and if you want to volunteer on the day please email us at [email protected].
See you on the 11th August.
