Event Overview
As the nights are drawing in and our thoughts turn to winter, and how we will heat our homes this year, there is a growing concern in the energy awareness sector about the impacts of cold on the most vulnerable.
With this in mind, we would like to invite you to join a free energy awareness session which will help you to understand fuel poverty and what you can do about it. The session will be approximately 45 minutes long.
The session will cover the following topics:
- What fuel poverty is, how it can affect health and how to spot it
- The priority service register
- Switching energy supplier or tariff
- Energy efficiency advice
- Advice about home improvement grants
- How to apply for fuel debt relief if you live in Cambridgeshire
- Condensation and damp
- Local services to refer to for help
We also have electronic booklets and leaflets which will share as part of the training package.
PECT is currently delivering a programme of personalised energy saving advice and support as part of the Big Energy Saving Network, which is a national campaign to help people cut their energy bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to. Click here to get in touch with PECT.
The campaign is run by Citizens Advice and the Energy Saving Trust in close collaboration with the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. You can find out more at www.bigenergysavingwinter.org.uk
