From Teesdale to Inis Mor
An illustrated talk on the development of coastal conservation interwoven with consideration of the influence of the last Ice Age on the British flora with reference to some of the most important sites culminating in Spring Gentian on Inis Mór.
Coastal ecologist Dr Pat Doody began his career in nature conservation on Upper Teesdale NNR where he studied several arctic alpine species including Gentiana Verna. He will take us through his career from there via the conservation of the British coast to Inis Mór, one of western Ireland’s Arran islands.
