Holi May Day is back!
A cultural coming-together of the Hindu Holi Festival* famous for its colour throwing, and May Day, otherwise known as International Workers Day**.
We will release more details of the event in due course but expect to see:
– Holi colour throwing***
– Family friendly activities
– Plant sales
– A real ale bar
– Great food
– Stalls selling handmade arts and crafts
– Beautiful gardens of The Green Backyard
* Holi is a colourful and happy Hindu holiday, primarily celebrated in India on the last full moon at the end of the winter season.
**International Workers Day is a celebration of all who labour and the working classes, traditionally held on May 1st – the ancient European spring festival of May Day
***Please note that as this event is no longer subsidised with grant funding, this year we will be making a small charge to cover the costs of the colours.
