Event Overview
Work off the Christmas pudding with the Ely Local Group as it aims to discover what mid-Winter wildlife can be found around Roswell Pits and the River Great Ouse.
With short days, low temperatures and possible bad weather, it is tempting to believe that there is little to see in the countryside at this time of year.
Of course, that is very far from the truth and with creatures making the most of the limited daylight.
Winter can be an excellent time to go wildlife watching.
Bittern, Goosander and Kingfisher are amongst the highlights of previous mid-winter walks and, whilst they cannot be guaranteed, there should be plenty of interest around Roswell Pits.
Paths can be uneven and slippery and muddy if wet.
Not suitable for people with limited mobility or wheelchair users.
- Parking available
- Public transport accessible
