Event Overview

Help create a ‘mini forest’ in your community.

Want to do something amazing in Werrington this March? Come along to Davids Lane on Sunday 2 March and plant trees. You’ll be helping to create a wood meadow ‘mini forest’ on your home patch.

What’s a wood meadow ‘mini forest’? Put simply, it’s a compact forest – typically about the size of a tennis court (10 by 20 metres) – blending wildflower meadow and native woodland species to form a rich, overlapping ecosystem. Find out more here.

By planting trees, you’ll be increasing local tree-canopy coverage and boosting biodiversity across Peterborough.

Count me in…

There’s no need to book. Just turn up between 10am and 3pm and get stuck in. There will be ongoing safety briefings and demonstrations throughout the day.

Please come dressed for the outdoors (i.e. in clothes you won’t mind getting muddy) and wear stout footwear. PECT will be providing tools and work gloves.

When: Sunday 2 March, 10am to 3pm
Where: Davids Lane (near the Pastures Play Area), Werrington, Peterborough, PE4 5AU
