This event brings together both existing members and non-members of the iiE green accreditation scheme to celebrate the achievements of those businesses already part of the scheme, and provides a fantastic insight for non-members to discover more about iiE.
April Sotomayor, Business Support Officer at iiE explains: “For businesses that are looking to improve their eco credentials and are interested in becoming an iiE member, the awards are a great opportunity to hear first-hand from current members about their green achievements through networking and testimonials.”
The not-for-profit iiE accreditation is unique because businesses must achieve a minimum 2% improvement (where possible) in resource efficiency over an agreed baseline figure to secure green accreditation. Other criteria include having a recycling system in place, adopting a travel plan, calculating carbon footprint and setting targets for carbon reduction.
iiE member businesses can secure Bronze, Silver or the highest level of Green accreditation, plus at the Awards it will be announced who has won further awards – such as ‘Best Green Champion’ and ‘Overall Achiever’.
Prior to the presentation of the awards, there will be a networking opportunity for businesses to promote their services. There will be a showcase of green products and services to inspire attendees in environmental best practice, with innovative green initiatives.
