Opinions Needed For New Community Net Zero Project

Energy

Local residents are being invited to share their thoughts on the branding and messaging of a new Net Zero brand that reflects Peterborough’s collective vision for a greener, cleaner city

Hosted by local environmental charity PECT and Peterborough City Council, the events will give residents, communities and businesses a unique opportunity to shape the development of a Net Zero brand that reflects the thoughts and aspirations of those living and working in Peterborough. As climate change remains one of the most critical challenges we face, it’s vital that our efforts to tackle it are clear, inclusive, and locally relevant.

The sessions will explore what net zero means to the community and for businesses; how the brand can communicate sustainability effectively; and ways to promote the city’s green initiatives. Attendees will also learn about Peterborough’s current net zero projects and how they can actively contribute to meeting the city’s ambitions.

This event is open to all Peterborough residents, businesses and organisations, regardless of their level of familiarity with net zero. Whether you’re just starting your journey or already involved in environmental efforts, your input is vital.

As a thank you for their contributions, all participants will enjoy complimentary food and drink and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses; and to ensure all residents have an opportunity to attend, the event will be family-friendly, with activities to keep children entertained throughout the session.

“Tacking climate change and decarbonising our energy can help to build stronger and more resilient communities”, says Stuart Dawks, CEO at PECT, “These focus groups will help us understand the barriers and motivations for residents and businesses in Peterborough and take the next step towards Peterborough becoming a net zero city.”

Live more rurally? Help us understand energy use in your local community

This November, we are inviting residents to take part in a series of workshops, focused on your thoughts and aspirations when it comes to achieving Net Zero in your local area. As climate change remains one of the most critical challenges we face, it’s vital that our efforts to tackle it are clear, inclusive, and locally relevant.

Participants will explore carbon-saving technologies, such as heat pumps and retrofitting their homes, as well as potential community energy projects.

Residents will learn how they can play an active role in achieving the city’s net zero ambitions. This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow residents, explore barriers and potential solutions together, and help shape the future of your village’s energy landscape.

These sessions are coming soon! To receive notifications and register your interest, please visit our website at www.pect.org.uk/projects/panz/
